It's official! I will be spending the summer in Italy!
In August 2010, I started thinking about how I could travel in my summers off, so I started researching. I went online and googled summer programs abroad. I ended up finding several different organizations such as, GoAbroad and Geovisions. These organizations have programs that set people up in countries all over the world to teach English to a family. Not only do these organizations help teach people in other countries English, but there are other programs such as studying and volunteering available to suit everyone's needs.
I knew I definitely wanted to travel to Italy for at least a month, so I had to find the program that was right for me. After talking to several people in the organizations, I finally came to the decision that I would use the services of Geovision. I told them that I wanted to be in Italy and wanted to be there for the month of July in 2011. I had to put together a resume, a letter about myself, and pictures to give people an idea of who I am. The organization would use these documents with their partners in Italy to help find me a family to stay with.
After a very long, long wait, I received an email from Geovisions saying they found me a family to stay with for the month of July. So watch out Italy, here I come!!
