La mia vita Italiano!

This morning I woke up, and I got ready for the beach!  The plan this morning was to get me to the Contessa Beach at Civitanova Marche.  The reason for this was so I could meet another American girl who is living with a family and teaching them English.  I figured it would be a good chance to get to know one another and perhaps do things in the evenings or on the weekends during our free time.

The boys and I got to the beach at 10 am to find the girl.  It took sometime, but with the help of Francesco he was able to ask around and find her.  We finally found her and the boy she is teaching English on the beach.  The boys all went off and played together and doing their own things while Chelsey and I got to know each other.  We talked about where we were from, what we do for a living, and what brought us to Italy.  She told me she had read "Eat, Pray, Love," and that about sold her on getting to Italy.  The funny thing is that I had always wanted to go to Italy again, but after reading "Eat, Pray, Love" last summer and seeing the movie in the fall, I became more determined than ever to figure out how I could get over here.  After getting to know each other, we decided that we are going to travel together.  Our first trip will be this weekend, and we will be going to Roma!

Before we left the beach, I got her email address so we could email back and forth to plan things.  I am really happy there is somebody nearby whom I can travel with during our free times.  The boys and I stayed at the beach for only 2 hours, and we then got picked up by Michela on her way home from work.  We stayed by the pool and relaxed until lunch.  A friend of Michela's came by with her son, so we all had lunch together.  It is so nice to see how welcoming the Boccaccini's are not only to me but to all of their friends and family as well.  Maybe it is just the Italian culture, but it truly makes living in another country more comfortable with the feeling of home.

We all ate lunch outside together.  Can you guess what we ate?  Pasta with mozzarella!  Absolutely delicious.  Before I leave Italy, I am going to learn how to cook the real pasta.  However, I may not want to make it when I get home with all the extra pounds I am going to be putting on.  With the weather being so nice, it is possible to eat meals outside.  During the day it gets warm in the sun, but when you sit in the shade it is cool.

(Outdoor eating area, which is where we eat almost all of our meals)

After lunch I layed by the pool until it was time for Greggorio's English lesson.  The pool is so nice!  I always take my kindle to read.  I am currently reading "The Help."  It is really good!  I am almost finished, so I will have to get started on another one soon.

Greggorio's English is getting better everyday, and he is becoming more confident.  I am working with him on conversational English, but we are starting with the basics.  He already knows a lot of words, but some of the necessary words are needed.  We have been working on the calendar, colors, body parts, how to use I and you, question words, and a bunch more.  I work with Michela on her English throughout the day.  We will talk in the car, preparing and during meals, and I answer all of her questions when something comes to mind.  I think this summer is going to be a huge success!

I know you all want to see some more pictures of where I am, so here they are...

So, there you have it.  I guess you can say this is a little piece of my Italian life!
